Using games to increase awareness on the problems with early child marriage

The unique feature about Mobile Vaani campaigns is that it can reach out to lakhs of rural families who are mostly illiterate and do not have access to other mass media channels.Oxfam India, Population Foundation of India (PFI) and Our Say are some of the developmental and advocacy organisations that have run campaigns through Mobile Vaani in the last few years. Usually, these campaigns involve promos and episodes with information about the campaign followed by discussion time for the listeners when they can share their opinions and experiences, ask questions and give feedback.

One of the recent campaigns that were run on Mobile Vaani on early marriage was quite unconventional as it had a different format from the usual campaigns. The entire campaign was structured in the form of a game with several stages in which the users had to listen, answer and comment to move on to the next level.
